Police: Man hit and killed by train in Racine County

BURLINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) --- A man was fatally struck by a freight train in Burlington near Honey Lake and Spring Prairie on Monday, May 31.

Police say Racine County deputies responded to the area around 8 p.m. On arrival, deputies found an adult man dead near the train tracks. 

Police say there is no foul play and the man intentionally positioned himself on the railway.

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Canadian National Police on the incident.

The City of Burlington Police Department, City of Burlington Fire Department, Town of Burlington Fire Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit assisted with the incident.
