Officers in the village of Sharon say it happened near Baldwin and Plain St. around 2:45 p.m.
Police say a driver asked a child if they wanted a ride home, and the child refused. The driver reportedly asked again, before leaving and traveling northbound on Martin St.
The car is described as a light blue, four-door sedan with unknown Illinois plates. The victim described the driver as an older white man with gray hair and a five o'clock shadow.
