Police: Drunk driver crashes into Germantown home

GERMANTOWN- Police in Germantown said an intoxicated driver caused a rear-end motor vehicle crash at an intersection in the north end of the Village.

GPD added that the suspect fled the crash scene in his vehicle while being followed by victims and/or witnesses.

The suspect then crashed his vehicle into an occupied residence, backed his vehicle away from the residence, and fled the area again in his vehicle.

Witnesses and/or victims provided a license plate number to Germantown Communications, and officers eventually located the suspect vehicle and driver at his residence in Germantown.

The suspect in this incident was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle while intoxicated, second offense, and hit and run.

Fortunately, no victims were injured in this incident.

However, this incident clearly demonstrates the importance of responsible celebration this St. Patrick’s Day Holiday.

Please have a designated driver or take advantage of public transportation if you are going to celebrate.
