Police: 30-year-old woman dies after being hit by car in Dane County

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) – A person is dead after being hit by a car early Thursday morning in the Town of Blue Mounds.

According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, it happened around 12:20 a.m. near U.S. Route 151 and Cave of the Mounds Rd.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 34-year-old man from Dubuque, Iowa was operating a 2010 Honda Accord and hit a 30-year-old female pedestrian. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the driver is being cooperative with the investigation and there are no charges at this time.

The identity of the victim will be released pending family notification. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
