Police: 26-year-old woman fatally shot during argument near Appleton and Grantosa Drive

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Police say a 26-year-old woman has died after injuries sustained in a shooting Friday, June 5.

Authorities say it happened near Appleton and Grantosa Drive around 7:24 p.m.

The victim got into an argument with the suspect who police say she had a relationship with.

The suspect retrieved a firearm and shot her once in the stomach. 

Police say the woman was taken to a local hospital where she later died. 

The suspect is in custody and the case will be referred to the DA's office.
