Pleasant Prairie Police Department Offering to Check Homes While Residents are on Vacation
If you're looking for a way to keep your home safe while you're away on spring vacation look no further than your police department.
Over the past year police here in Pleasant Prairie have her checked in on more than 140 homes with homeowner is away on vacation.
Officers will check on the home multiple times a day, with at least one visit per shift.
They will walk around the property looking for anything that may be suspicious or out of place.
Pleasant Prairie Police Department has tips like lock all your windows and doors, give a key to a trusted friend or neighbor.
The department also is starting to rely more on home security cameras.
Earlier this month they started a neighborhood camera registry those with home surveillance systems can register with Pleasant Prairie Police Department. They said those cameras give homeowners and neighbors peace of mind and could help solving a crime.
To register your home surveillance system all you have to do is contact the police department.
