MARATHON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Video of a high school basketball player punching another player in north central Wisconsin is making the rounds on social media.
The playoff basketball game happened on Friday.
After a missed shot in the fourth quarter, two players go up for a rebound and get tangled up as they go to the ground.
When both players try to get up, it appears one player shoves and throws a punch at the other player.
"During tournament time, we know the emotions are rationed up a bit and it's important for us as an association and the member's schools in the association to really reflect on the importance of education-based athletics," said Todd Clark, Communication Director, WIAA.
Referees stopped the game and the players were separated.
The player who threw the punch was ejected from the game.
