Plane returns to Mitchell after in flight problem

A spokesperson for General Mitchell Airport confirms that a flight had to return to the airport after takeoff Tuesday.  


The US Airways flight was headed to Charlotte, but was forced to return to Milwaukee after experiencing an issue in the air.


It landed safely at 2:45 p.m.

“US Airways Express flight 3846 from Milwaukee to Charlotte returned to Mitchell airport due to an indication of possible smoke in the lavatory,\" Brianna Jackson of American Airlines told CBS 58's Bill Walsh. \"The flight is operated by AirWisconsin. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to the gate with no further issue and is being inspected. There were no passengers on board at the time as the crew was repositioning the aircraft to Charlotte for further service.”
