Petrifying Springs Park Set to Re-open Saturday

A  popular Kenosha County park will re-open for residents to enjoy this weekend.

The county closed Petrifying Springs Park for seven weeks so loggers could remove more than 1,600 ash trees damaged by emerald ash borer. The park was originally scheduled to re-open last week, but wood piles were too high and public safety was a concern. The wood was sold as part of a logging contract, reducing the removal cost to about 17 dollars per tree. County officials tell us the park will re-open Saturday.
