MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- What started as a single cart selling frozen fruit confections four years ago now has a Milwaukee storefront.
Pete's Pops will have its grand opening Saturday, August 18 near 38th and Vliet.
The business will only be open on weekends to start. Pete Cooney started his business with five flavors. It also became well known for some unique flavors including thai tea, pear goat cheese, and sweet corn blueberry.
"So, five years ago I started with one cart. I rented a kitchen in the Third Ward and I made everything myself and I pushed the cart out on the weekends and it was a really small operation," said Cooney.
Pete's Pops will still have carts out in the community at various farmers markets and events like the nearby Wednesday night concerts at Washington Park.
