Pedestrian hit by car in Mount Pleasant, taken to hospital with serious injuries

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 48-year-old pedestrian has serious injuries after Mount Pleasant Police say the person was hit by a car Thursday night.
According to investigators, the crash happened around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of STH 31 (S. Green Bay Road) and STH 20 (Washington Ave.). Police say the driver was not injured. The pedestrian, said to be from Racine, was taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses told officers tat the driver ad a green light and was traveling northbound on STH 31. The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing while crossing the street eastbound on a red light in the crosswalk prior to the collision.
The crash is under investigation. It's not believed either the driver or the pedestrian was impaired.
