Pedestrian hit and killed by car, driver arrested for OWI

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 53-year-old man is in custody after investigators say he hit a pedestrian in Washington County. 

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to County Highway D in the Town of Wayne around 2:30 Sunday morning for a man lying in the road. The 37-year-old West Bend man was pronounced dead at the scene as the result of being hit by a car. The driver of the car, a 53-year-old Town of Trenton man, returned to the scene and was taken into custody for OWI and homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. 

The death is still under investigation. The Sheriff's Office says this is the seventh traffic fatality in the county in 2017.
