MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- He's a war hero, a survivor, and one of the last links to a dark day in American history.
Edward Miklavcic is one of the last living veterans who survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. On Wednesday, April 2, he celebrated his 105th birthday.
"Let me see, how do I feel, I feel great," said Miklavcic.
He lives at the Congregational Home in Brookfield, and they threw him a party today. Miklavcic doesn't see very well, but his memory seems quite sharp. He shared experiences from that fateful day in 1941. He had a strong response when someone asked him how he felt about living 105 years.
"I took care of myself, and I worked hard and I'm happy with my life. I sometimes reminisce that I could have done something different, but I feel pretty good," said Miklavcic.
Miklavcic is a fiercely proud American, as you might expect. He tells us he thinks the US is still the greatest nation in the world.
