Oshkosh has its EAA Airventure while West Bend has its Sky Ranch Flyers. This model airplane club started out almost 30 years ago as a way to promote safety with radio controlled planes and helicopters. When weather conditions are just right, you'll typically find members flying on the grounds of the old Hahn Sky Ranch Airport. Now the organization has grown into something much bigger, and it also profiles more modern type of aircraft, including drones.
I had the chance to fly a few myself Tuesday morning. Talk about being in control of your own destiny. And the best news of all, I didn't crash! Some 40 flying enthusiasts make up the club. They're always looking for new members. If you're interested, just click here.
