Packers sign Spriggs, five other players

The Packers announced Monday that they have signed second round draft choice Jason Spriggs, along with five other players.

Spriggs, an offensive lineman, will spend 2016 learning behind Green Bay's veteran offensive line. Four starting offensive linemen have expiring contracts after the 2016 season.

Green Bay also signed tight end Casey Pierce and four rookie free agents: defensive tackle Demetris Anderson, running back Brandon Burks, fullback Alstevis Squirewell and guard Cory Tucker. The Packers released five players, including Josh Boyd, who played in 26 games during his three season tenure with the Packers.
