PACKERS PREVIEW: Homecoming for Rodgers in California

A former Badger is once again a member of the active squad. Jared Abbrederis has been activated for Sunday's game.

Two other players have been downgraded to be doubtful for this game including Morgan Burnett, a key member of that Packer secondary. In week one, these Packers were without Burnett against the Bears, and allowed 141 yards rushing and a touchdown to Matt forte. The Packers did do much better without Burnett against the Chiefs on Monday night Football earlier this week.

It’s not just a homecoming for Aaron Rogers in California. Mike McCarthy was a 49ers assistant before taking the Packers coaching job nearly a decade ago.

Eddie Lacy was among the packers we saw at the team hotel in San Jose last night, the Packers coming out on Friday for this battle.

As for receivers, what makes Chico, California product Aaron Rodgers so great is that he succeeded with just about anyone at wide receiver.

With Jordy Nelson out, there has been almost no drop off in the offensive output of Rodgers in the passing game. One of the biggest reasons why, is James Jones.

Jones has four touchdown catches through three games. He's got at least one touchdown pass in every one of the Packers games this season.
