MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Donald Driver, the Green Bay Packers all-time leading receiver had a different mission on Monday, Sept. 15.

In partnership with SHARP Literacy, he went to St. Roman Parish School in Milwaukee to read one of the children's books he wrote. He has written four children's books that include dealing with loss, overcoming adversity and healthy living.

Driver later spoke with students about overcoming obstacles and shared some of his personal reading experiences.

"It's always great to connect with those kids, because you gotta remember you were one of them, right, you were that kid sitting on the floor and someone came in and read to you. and so just to keep their span and their attention was great, the smiles on their face,  but the best part about it is they learn, they truly learn and they got the story line, it shows you don't have to be big, you just have to have the big heart to do whatever you want to do in life."

That partnership with SHARP Literacy has another event coming up, called "on novel event," Donald Driver will be present there as well -- continuing to highlight the importance of reading throughout one's life.
