Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office investigating string of thefts from businesses and construction sites

The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of several burglaries to businesses and thefts from constructions sites over the past few weeks. The incidents appear to be occurring in the proximity along I43 in the Town of Grafton.

On Wednesday, 06-14-17 the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a residential home under construction in the 600 block of Lakefield Rd. in the Town of Grafton that was forcefully entered and burglarized. Several items including tools, construction materials, and cooper wire were removed from the residence.

On Wednesday, 06-14-17 the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a locked enclosed trailer parked at a residential construction site in the 700 block of Lakefield Rd. in the Town of Grafton that was forcefully entered and equipment stolen. Several items including tools and construction equipment were removed from the trailer.

On Friday, 06-30-17 the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary which occurred at the Fire Ridge Golf Course located at 2297 CTH W in the Town of Grafton. The maintenance shop located on golf course property was forcefully entered. Several items including tools and equipment were removed from the building.

On Monday, 07-03-17 the Sheriff’s Office received a report of burglaries to two (2) commercial buildings and thefts from four (4) enclosed trailers located at the businesses of Paul Crandall & Associates (1645 N. Port Washington Rd.) and Chenery Brothers (1655 N. Port Washington Rd.) in the Town of Grafton. The incidents occurred between 12:00 pm Saturday, 07-01-17 and 6:00 am Monday, 07-03-17. Several items including tools and construction equipment were removed from the buildings and trailers.

These incidents appear to be similar in nature based on the location of the targeted areas (commercial buildings, construction sites, and trailers in the proximity along I43 in the Town of Grafton) and items taken (tools and construction equipment).

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior and to report any information regarding these incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 262-284-7172 or text “OZSO + your tip” anonymously to 847411.
