An intersection under construction in Brookfield is costing drivers a lot of money. Hundreds of citations have been given out at the intersection of Burleigh Place and Pilgrim Road.
The Court Clerk in Brookfield says she believes police have given out more than 200 tickets at the intersection in less than a month.
Pilgrim is closed at Burleigh Place, but motorists keep driving through the "road closed" signs.
People who live or work in this area have a pass to get through without a citation, but the intersection is blocked off to other drivers because of construction happening down the road where crews are working to widen the road.
The clerk tells me they have had similar problems with construction sites in the past, but nothing like this. The citation fine is around $130.
This intersection is expected back up at the end of the summer.
