Over 100 Pounds of Marijuana and 22 Firearms Seized in Drug Bust

Monroe, Wis. (CHANNEL 3000) - Police found more than 100 pounds of marijuana, 30 growing plants, 22 firearms and $20,000 in cash during a search warrant in rural Monroe, according to a release.

Law enforcement officers from the Green County Sheriff’s Office and the State Line Area Narcotics Team executed a search warrant Wednesday morning at separate residences on Pine Tree Road in rural Monroe, officials said to Channel 3000.

Officers seized about 55 pounds of processed marijuana, 30 growing plants and equipment related to its cultivation, production and sale, according to the release. Officers also seized 22 firearms, $20,000 in cash and several vehicles.

Michael J. Scott, 46, was arrested on tentative charges of manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At another residence, officers found 57 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

Jolene R. Smith, 55, was arrested on tentative charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, delivery of marijuana, maintaining a drug dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Smith’s husband, Jeffrey L. Smith, 56, was arrested on tentative charges of maintaining a drug dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Scott was arraigned in Green County Court and released on a $12,000 signature bond. He will be back in court May 25.

Jolene Smith was arraigned and released on an $8,000 signature bond. Jeffrey Smith was released on a $5,000 signature bond. They will be back in court May 2.
