One woman dead, a second injured and in custody in late night shootings in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE, WI (CBS 58) -- One woman is dead and a second is injured and in custody following a late night shooting in Milwaukee Saturday.
According to the Milwaukee Police, while responding to a call of shots fire around 11:30 PM, a woman between 20- and 30-years-of-age was found near N 16th Street and W Atkinson Avenue suffering from a severe gunshot wound. She died at the scene.
About 15 minutes later, officers were called to the area of S 12th and W National Avenue where they found a 30-year-old woman with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injury.
Police investigators believe the two shootings to be related and the second women was subsequently arrested. The MPD is continuing its investigation of the shooting.
