One person dead after Milwaukee police chase and crash ends near 51st and W. Center St.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are searching for a suspect who they say hit and killed another person during a police pursuit on Sat. Aug. 23. 

Police say at around 7:40 p.m. they attempted to make a traffic stop near 60th and Meinecke Avenue, for a vehicle wanted in connection to a shooting. 

The driver refused to stop and a pursuit began. The chase ended when the driver of the fleeing vehicle hit another vehicle traveling west, on West Center Street.

Police say the driver who was hit died at the scene. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the fleeing vehicle fled on foot and has not been arrested.
