NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) – One of the coldest places on Earth is right here in Southeast Wisconsin, according to Chr. Hansen Inc.
The global bio-science company is expanding its -67°F super freezer in New Berlin. When it’s done, the freezer will be 30,000 sq. ft.
Live cultures used to make cheeses, yogurts and dairy products are stored in the freezer. The expansion is expected to be complete by the end of 2019.
The company says it will add 5-15 jobs at the site.
