UPDATE: One man dead in Town of Wheatland mobile home fire

TOWN OF WHEATLAND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 71-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a fatal fire in the Town of Wheatland. 

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office says Stanley Mesmer was killed in a mobile home fire at the Wheatland Mobile Home Park near 45th Street and Wheatland Estates Road around 5:00 a.m. Friday. 

The cause of the fire is still being investigated. Authorities say it does not appear to be suspicious.

TOWN OF WHEATLAND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal fire in the Town of Wheatland. 

According to the KCSO, deputies were called out for a mobile home fire at the Wheatland Mobile Home Park near 45th St. and Wheatland Estates Rd. around 5 a.m, Friday morning. They confirmed smoke and flames were coming from mobile home #117.

While on scene, deputies were unable to contact anyone inside of the mobile home. Upon fire department personnel arriving and completing a search of the mobile home, a single deceased man was found inside.No other victims were in the mobile home.

Multiple Kenosha County fire departments including the Town of Wheatland Fire Department, Town of Randall Fire Department, Village of Twin Lakes Fire Department, Village of Salem Lakes Fire Department, Village of Bristol Fire Department, and the Village of Pleasant Prairie Fire department assisted in extinguishing this fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is currently being investigated.
