One dead, two hurt after head-on crash in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) – One person is dead and two others are in the hospital after a head-on crash in Jefferson County.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the two-vehicle crash happened around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday on STH 16 about a quarter mile east of CTH F in the Town of Ixonia.

Investigators say a Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound on STH 16 and a Chevy Impala was traveling westbound on STH 16. It’s believed the Impala crossed the center line, colliding with the Silverado.

The front seat passenger of the Impala, a 16-year-old also from Oconomowoc, and the driver of the Chevy Silverado, a 35-year-old man from Waukesha, were taken to a local hospital by ambulance for suspected minor injuries. A passenger in the Silverado was not taken to the hospital.

The crash is still under investigation.
