Officials warn of scam calls using Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office phone number

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Scammers are using the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office phone number to scare residents, officials say.

According to a tweet from the MCSO, the scammers call citizens and tell them they have missed jury duty, and that a warrant has been issued for their arrest. The MCSO says they will not call or email people threatening arrest.

If you receive a similar call, you're advised to hang up.

If you fall victim to the scam and suffer monetary losses, report the call via email to [email protected], or by phone at 414-278-4705.
