October is pit bull awareness month

October is national pit bull awareness month. It started in 2011 in order to change public perception of the breed.
In honor of pit bull awareness month, Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission is offering an adoption special. Through October, all pit bull dogs are only $45, not including the Milwaukee County pet licensing fee.
The Brew City Bullies Club is also hosting a number of evens in October, including Saturday's Peaceful Pittie Walk at Veterans' Memorial Park in West Allis. For more information on their upcoming pit bull related events you can check out the group's website.
