No Shadow; Consensus among Punxsutawney Phil and Wisconsin Ground Hogs Now Predicting Early Spring

Spring is coming!  There was a consensus among grounds hogs from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin Tuesday.

On the 130th annual trek of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, Phil the ground hog delivered good news for those anticipating a short winter season. As tradition goes, if the groundhog sees its shadow, there are six more weeks of winter. No shadow means spring is near.

According to his Precise Prediction Scroll, "the inner circle goes to great ends to keep me abreast of the latest trends. Down in my burrow, I never get bored, riding on my hoverboard. And I sure have fun flying my drone, but the weather forecasting is my comfort zone. Is this current warm weather more than a trend? Her chance this winter has come to an end. There is no shadow to be cast, an early spring is my forecast!"

Every year, on February 2nd, the town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania celebrates the legendary groundhog with a festival.

Sunny at the Racine Zoo came to same conclusion.

Jimmy the ground hog also made the same early prediction from a cage in Sun Prairie.

He's a new Jimmy and was kept in the cage, because last year's Jimmy bit the mayor in the ear.
