MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Megadeth concert with special guests Papa Roach, Pop Evil, and Badflower at the American Family Amphitheater on July 4 has been canceled due to health issues, according to Summerfest officials.
The lead singer of Megadeth, Dave Mustaine, was recently diagnosed with throat cancer.
“It’s clearly something to be respected and faced head on - but I’ve faced obstacles before. I’m working closely with my doctors, and we’ve mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90% success rate. Treatment has already begun, said Mustaine.”

This is the second slot cancellation for the night of July 4. Initially, Ozzy Osbourne was supposed to headline on the 4th, but health issues also caused Osbourne to postpone his tour until 2020.
Refunds are available from the original point of purchase and Summerfest says they will not be rescheduling a show for July 4 in the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Currently, all scheduled Megadeth dates across the country, have also been canceled.
