We Energies drops plan to tax solar customers

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We Energies is backing away from a surcharge for people with solar panels on their homes.

The company announced Monday that they've reached an agreement with RENEW Wisconsin to avoid the fee hike.

The deal calls for cooperation between both companies on a future solar project from We Energies. 

Both companies plan to discuss their plans for a clean energy future over the next two years.
