CBS 58’s Theater Thursdays: ’Project Hail Mary’ and ’Tow’
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Friday was a big day for a Milwaukee group that helps homeless people.
They cut the ribbon for a newly-renovated kitchen at The Gathering on 13th and Fond Du Lac. It serves meals to hundreds of homeless people each day.
"Meal guests are very -- they're kind of one big, happy family here," said Executive Director Lyn Hildenbrand. "It's really cool the camaraderie that takes place on a daily basis. Not just today, 'cause it's a party atmosphere, but every single day, you can sit down and talk to folks and learn their stories."
The Gathering operates meal programs at several sites around the city.
The organization just moved to its new location last year and they've been making a lot of upgrades since then.
