New Zoo Interchange ramp scheduled to open next week

The seasons may be changing, but the mess near the Zoo Interchange isn't.

The Zoo interchange construction project continues, but there's some good news for drivers. The ramp going westbound Watertown Plank Road to northbound US 45 will open on October 4th.

\"If you are headed up to Germantown,  north parts of Milwaukee, or Menomonee falls, the ramp is listed as Fond Du Lac, you will be able to use that to get to US 45,\" said Michael Pyritz with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

But with that comes another closure.

\"As soon as this ramp is open, we will be shutting down the ramp on Wisconsin Avenue, the on ramp to US 45,\" said Pyritz.

New access to the area will not be available until the project is almost complete.



He said there will be a lot of changes by the end of the year, \"You will see a brand new Watertown Plank Interchange fully functioning.\"
