New video shows crash with bus in Racine that left 11 people injured
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 has obtained new video showing the moment a woman crashed into a Racine city bus, injuring 11 people.
Shamya Anderson, 20, now faces over two dozen felony charges.
Surveillance video CBS 58 obtained from inside the bus shows multiple angles of the crash, including the moment the bus driver slams on the brakes and Anderson's car hits the bus.
Two other angles show several passengers bumping into each other and at least one passenger falling down. Investigators say 11 people in total were injured.
In a criminal complaint – investigators say Anderson was driving near 16th and Murray Street “recklessly and at a high rate of speed, swerving in traffic,” on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Anderson is now being charged with 25 felonies and four misdemeanors.
A previous criminal complaint reveals that Anderson was out on a signature bond for a fatal hit and run in December that killed 44-year-old Dwayne Carr. Anderson did not have a license in both crashes.
Anderson's bond was set at $500,000.
As of right now, it’s unclear how this new case will impact the fatal hit and run case from December. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11.
