New Riverworks City Center opens to help provide space for startup businesses

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee entrepreneurs now have a new option to help grow their business.

Riverworks, an organization that works to improve business development in the Milwaukee area, is celebrating the grand opening of the Riverworks City Center. The organization held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday.

The City Center will provide office space and support services for business startups.

The hope is that it boosts the profile of the Harambee and Riverwest neighborhoods.

"This is a vibrant area, this is an area that many people have wrote off we have two great neighborhoods, Harambee and Riverwest, and so many good and exciting things are happening, and our whole goal is to bring attention to this area, so people know that we have a good segment of this city of Milwaukee that love Milwaukee and love our communities," said Riverworks Executive Director Darryl Johnson.

In addition to the office space, the City Center includes a laundromat, lofts, and space for future development.
