GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- For the first time, we're seeing hours of body cam and dash cam video that shows the moments when a Greenfield woman was run over and killed by an officer last summer.

Tracie Dorpat was lying in the road July 27th when Officer Lisa Van Engen ran her over.

Much of the relevant video was already blurred by the Greenfield Police Department. But it shows the emergency response and investigation after an officer that was sent to check on Tracie Dorpat ran over her instead.

The video shows the officer asking Dorpat, "Why were you in the middle of the road?" Dorpat does not answer, instead saying, "I can't breathe, I can't breathe, I can't breathe."

Police had been called to check on Dorpat moments earlier, but Van Engen did not see Dorpat lying in the road and accidentally drove over her.

Van Engen tried to help Dorpat and called for an ambulance.

The video shows Dorpat sitting in the road and moving around. Emergency crews arrived a short time later.

One EMT said, "Tracie, are you able to stand? Just lay back, we're going to get a board under you."

Dorpat was taken to the hospital with what were first believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, but she died there eight hours after the accident.

Van Engen radioed she was not going fast when she hit Dorpat. "Probably only 1, 2, 3, 4 miles an hour. Very slow."

The videos were released by the West Allis Police Department, which is investigating the incident. Also included were several interviews with neighbors recorded two weeks after Dorpat died.

In October, Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm closed the criminal investigation into Van Engen, saying there were no legal findings to warrant charges against her.

Currently, Tracie Dorpat's family is considering legal action. We've reached out to those attorneys and will share an update when we hear back.
