New mural promotes peace amid surge in Milwaukee gun violence

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With gun violence surging in Milwaukee, one artist wants to promote peace with public art.

International artist Kyle Holbrook created a mural near Holton and Locust in Milwaukee in an effort to stop gun violence. 

Holbrook has lost most of his childhood friends to gun violence and believes symbols like these can help be a tool to promote peace, by being visible in the community everyday for years to come.

This mural is part of a national tour to combat gun violence.
