Near 80 today, some stronger storms Wednesday

A southwest wind and sunshine in early May is the recipe for a warm day. With those types of conditions we will close in on 80 degrees in most areas in southeastern Wisconsin. If we hit 80 degrees in Milwaukee, it would be the fourth time this season. This time last year we only had one!

Expect changes by tomorrow with increasing cloudiness and two rounds of showers and storms; the first could hit the area by the morning hours, then a second round for the evening will be possible. Depending on how the atmosphere recovers, there could be a few stronger storms. The SPC has circled a section of the viewing under a “marginal” risk of severe weather. This will bring a chance of hail, stronger winds, and heavy downpours with any storms.

This active weather pattern continues for the end of the week and this weekend. A slow-moving low pressure system will usher in more rain and possibly a good soaking. We will have to monitor swollen rivers, streams, and creeks that received all of the rain last week.
