Muskego Police Department responds to suspicious package in Post Office parking lot

MUSKEGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Muskego Police Department was called out to a report of a suspicious package in the parking lot of the Post Office.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the Post Office, located at S74 W168660 Janesville Road.

According to police, an employee went to inspect the package, described as a medium sized cardboard box, and determined it to be suspicious due to its location and no identifying markings.

Upon arrival, officers were unable to determine who put the package there. The Bomb Squad and Postal Inspector were called out to investigate.

The package was x-rayed and determined not to be a threat to the public. 

Police are still working to figure out how the package got to the Post Office. If anyone has any information, they're asked to call the Muskego Police Department.
