MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus was involved in a hit-and-run Tuesday afternoon.
According to Milwaukee Police, it happened around 1:20 p.m. near 27th and Townsend when a driver hit the bus and took off.
The MCTS bus driver is okay and multiple passengers are being checked out by first responders. Multiple ambulances and police responded to the scene.
MCTS says a reckless cut off the bus, slammed on the breaks and made an illegal U-turn.
“Our vigilant and quick-thinking bus driver took evasive action. The bus made brief contact with the car's back bumper, seconds before the car sped away from the scene,” said Matt Sliker, MCTS spokesperson.
There was minor damage to the front of the bus.
Milwaukee Police are still investigating.
