Mukwonago Woman Dies after Crashing Head On with a Pickup Truck

A Mukwonago woman died after crashing head on with a pickup truck.

According to Mukwonago Police, the crash occurred on Saturday at 5:19 PM.

Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle head on crash on Sandy Beach Rd ¼ mile east of CTH I.  The vehicles involved in the crash were a black 2011 Hyundai Elantra and a white 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. 

The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai was a 48-year-old female from Mukwonago.  She was deceased on scene.  

She was wearing a seatbelt and airbags had deployed. 

The driver of the Toyota was a 48-year-old male from Mukwonago. 

There were two passengers in the Toyota, a 42-year-old male from Mukwonago and a 5-year-old female both from Mukwonago. 

A 17-year-old male from East Troy witnessed the event. 

He said that he witnessed the Hyundai crash into another vehicle at CTH J and CTH I in the Town of East Troy.  He said that the vehicle fled from that crash and proceeded north on CTH I where he witnessed the car leave the roadway and crash into two road signs north of Phantom Ranch Bible Camp.  He witnessed the car turn east onto Sandy Beach Rd and leave the roadway striking a mailbox and a tree.  The car continued east on Sandy Beach Rd in excess of 60 mph in a 30 MPH zone before it struck the Toyota.
