MPS asks the public for feedback on upcoming budget

MILWAUKEE -- If you live in the City of Milwaukee it's where about a billion of your tax dollars go every year.

Tuesday the Milwaukee Public School Board asked the public to weigh in on how the billion dollars will be spent. The board is working on the new budget for 2015 and among the highlights is a 31 million dollar overall spending cut, and 50 new teachers for art, music, and physical educaiton. But it's the teachers who seem most concerned about the plan, especially when it comes to their own salaries and quality of education.

There will be another public hearing on the MPS budget coming up on Thursday May 15th. That hearing gets under way at 6:30 at the Central Services Building on 52nd and Vilet.
