MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police District 7 had some fun on Oct. 23, at the Kids, Cops and Costumes event.

Kids and parents had food, games and raffles -- even getting to start their trick-or-treating early.

Officers also created a haunted house, free for anyone who dared to enter.

After National Night Out wraps up in Milwaukee, police in District 7 start to prepare for the Halloween festivities.

Officer Lawson Murrell says it is one of his favorite parts of the job.

"To see the community that we serve engaged in something with us," said Officer Lawson Murrell. "One of the more gratifying parts of the job."

Voting resources and information about local activities were set up for the community as well.
