MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 46-year-old pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee police say the crash happened on Thursday, April 4 at around 8:13 p.m. near 50th and Hampton.

The pedestrian was reportedly crossing the street and was hit by a car before being transported to a local hospital, but the injuries proved to be fatal.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle has been cooperative with their investigation and remained on-scene following the crash.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office is set to review the situation.
