MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A teenager was shot in Milwaukee early Wednesday, May 15, according to Milwaukee police.

Officials say that a 17-year-old victim was shot near 44th and Clarke and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The injury is believed to be non-life threatening.

Police tell CBS 58 that the victim was shot on 44th before running to 53rd to seek help.

Unknown suspects are being sought, and MPD is urging anyone with tips to call them at (414) 935-7360. Anonymous tips are also being accepted by contacting Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-Tips or utilizing the P3 Tips online service.
