Mount Pleasant Police investigating after child sexually assaulted by mother's boyfriend

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine County Human Services contacted the Mount Pleasant Police Department on Monday, regarding an alleged sexual assault of a child.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the mother's current boyfriend had sexually assaulted the child.
The investigation also revealed that the victim's mother had been aware of the abuse occurring over an extended period.
The male suspect from Mount Pleasant was taken into custody and held without bond for one count of Repeated Acts of Sexual Assault of a Child.
The suspect is scheduled for an initial appearance on Tuesday.
