2 charged with felony retail theft, hundreds of items recovered by police

Two are being charged with felony retail theft after around $31,000 worth of items was recovered by police.
According to a complaint, 36-year-old Jorge Aguilar and 35-year-old Dainerys Socarras-Llopis are charged with retail theft after police responded to a theft at an ULTA Beauty in Mount Pleasant. It was reported that a male suspect was shop lifting.
An officer followed Aguilar's white van in a squad car. 35-year-old Dainerys Socarras-Llopis was identified as the female passenger in the vehicle. The officer made contact with the driver and could see the stolen merchandise from ULTA in "plain view" according to the complaint.
Officers located the following items in the van:
-A Canadian Passport with the name Dainerys Socarras Llopis (no United States entry stamps)
- A Cuban Passport with the name of Dainerys Socarras Llopis (no United States entry stamps)
- A Cuban ID with the name “AD [not the name of either defendant]”- Boarding passes with the name Dainerys Socarras Llopis
- A loose magnet, recognized by Detective Justman as commonly used to remove security tags
-253 Bottles of Various Designer Perfume, estimated value of $16,675.00.
- Various Luggage items and Handbags, estimated value of $6,900.00
- Various clothing items from Adidas, Calvin Klein, and Michael Kors, estimated value of $1,700.00
- Miscellaneous items from Boach, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Spade, Nike, and Dyson, estimated value of $5,800.00
Multiple other agencies confirmed that Aguilar was the suspect in retail thefts in their jurisdictions.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) --The Mount Pleasant Police Department were dispatched to an ULTA Beauty on Saturday, Feb. 17 for a male that was reported shoplifting.
The officers located the suspects' vehicle. The suspects had hundreds of cologne and perfume bottles inside the vehicle. The suspects were taken into custody.
According to police, the suspects were identified as 36-year-old Jorge Aguilar and 35-year-old Dainerys Socarras-Llopis, both from Cuba.
Police say Aguilar has a warrant for his removal through ICE.
Located inside the vehicle were 162 pairs of athletic shoes, 41 designer bags, 13 Adidas track suits, and 332 bottles of cologne and perfume.
Police say the estimated value of the stolen property is $48,000.
The suspects were transported to the Racine County jail, and charges were referred to the Racine County District Attorney's Office.
Police say both parties are suspects in thefts throughout Wisconsin and other states.
The case remains under investigation.
