Mount Pleasant hit-and-run leaves E-bike rider seriously injured, suspect sought

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Mount Pleasant police are looking for a suspect wanted in a hit-and-run crash that left a E-bike rider seriously injured. 

Officials responded to the intersection of Lathrop and Taylor around 12:39 a.m. Feb. 25. 

Police say the victim was riding an orange E-Cells electric bicycle southbound on Lathrop Avenue when the crash occurred.

A passing motorist located the victim near the road about 10 minutes after the crash. Authorities say the bike rider was unable to provide detailed information about the suspect vehicle; however, vehicle debris at the scene indicates it may be a 1998-2005 GMC Sonoma or GMC Jimmy.

Police say the vehicle would likely have damage to the passenger-side mirror, passenger-side headlight, and turn signal assembly.
