MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The victim of another hit-and-run in Milwaukee is telling his story after a serious crash caused him to lose his limb.
"Well, I'm still in disbelief, you know," Gustavo Rojas says. "I'm just trying to -- I don't' know, I'm just trying to recover from this, you know, this is pretty tough. I don't wish this on anybody."
Back on Aug. 20, 29-year-old Rojas was riding his motorcycle near 27th and Wright when he was hit by another driver. Doctors were later forced to amputate his leg.
Milwaukee police say the driver of the other vehicle, a 19-year-old woman, failed to stop at the intersection, colliding with Rojas. She ran from the scene but was later arrested and charged.
Now, Rojas tells us he's working to raise awareness.
"I'm just trying to raise awareness for all of us motorcycles, you know. I get that we're hard to see, but please double check your surroundings for us."
A GoFundMe has been started to help with medical care and rehabilitation. You can find it by clicking here.
