Motorcycle crash kills two in Kenosha

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department is currently investigating after a motorcycle accident left two people dead. 

Shortly after 2 a.m. on July 30th, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and Village of Somers Fire and Rescue responded to a serious motorcycle crash in the 5500 block of the East Frontage Road.

The initial investigation from police reveals that a northbound traveling 2004 Honda motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

This resulted in motorcycle striking a guard rail on the west side of the road and continued post impact another 400 feet before coming to rest.

Driver and occupant of the motorcycle were ejected from the motorcycle on impact. Both sustained multiple traumatic injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both appear to have been wearing protective motorcycle helmets.

Speed was a contributing factor in this crash.

The identity of victims is being withheld at this time pending proper notification.

The investigation remains ongoing.
