Mother of trafficking victim testifies at trial

MILWAUKEE-- The prosecution is piling on in the trial of Roy Weatherall. He's the Milwaukee man accused of forcing children and young women into prostitution.

On the third day of trial, we learned more about the 18-year-old woman who prosecutors say was 15-years-old when Roy Weatherall recruited her to be a prostitute.

45-year-old Weatherall faces 20 charges in this trial for trafficking, sexually assaulting and beating up the girl, soliciting others for prostitution and trying to intimidate witnesses not to testify against him.

In court, the victims mother talked about how her daughter was rebelling since she was 13-years-old, that she wouldn't listen to her and would run away frequently.

The mother said she knew her daughter was living with Weatherall but she believed he was a boyfriend and that he was taking care of her since she had no control over her. That all changed when her daughter showed up to her house September 2013.

\"My baby was pounding on my door and my baby was all beat up,\" said the mother. \"I saw her face and eye was swollen and everything she had on was bloody,\" she added.

Police reports indicate Weatherall beat up the girl during a car trip back to Milwaukee from a strip club dancing job in Wisconsin Rapids.

After that incident, police built a case against Weatherall.

Trial will resume on Friday morning.
